HOW TO BRING MORE TRAFFIC TO YOUR WECHAT SHOP AND INCREASE SALES

Opening your shop on WeChat is your first step for sales. But now you need to bring visitors to your shop which is not as easy as it seems. Here are some strategies you may follow in order to increase your number of visitors and your sales.

 

 

1. Cost-per-click (CPC) or cost-per-mille (CPM) advertising

You will need to place WeChat banner Ads and pay each time a user clicks on the banner if you are using CPC; or each time a user sees your advertising banner if you are using CPM. There are two places in which is recommended to put your banners.

 

The first one is on “Subscription account Ads” in which your Advertising will appear at the bottom of Subscription Account articles and they can link to your website, WeChat official account pages or Mini-Programs. This kind of advertising is relatively affordable with an approximate investment of 2,000 RMB (less than US$300). However the click-through rate on these Ads is low and the quality of the followers is questionable.

 

The second one is on “Moment Ads” in which users of Moments will see your Advertising, just as you will see in Facebook timeline. WeChat moment ads normally consist of a set of photographs or a small video. This screen is one of the most important ones in WeChat hence the price to advertise here is expensive. So if you have a big budget, this might be the solution for your business.

 

2. Key Opinion Leader (KOL) on WeChat

Chinese KOL are famous and specialized bloggers that can promote your brand by writing and article about your product or by adding your banner at the end of one of their articles. WeChat KOL Ads can linkthe user directly to your WeChat store or to a WeChatmini-program.

 

Chinese KOL are perfect if you are new in China. Prices may vary from USD$200 to USD$50,000 depending on the amount of followers and popularity of the KOL.

 

There are several places where you can find Chinese KOL like newrank.cn and WeMedia. KOL are a great way of advertising, but you need to be very careful and make sure they are not fake KOL.Check and ask for some references of clients that have worked in the past for them.

 

3. Leverage on other social and e-commerce platforms to drive traffic to WeChat

There are other platforms besides WeChat in which advertising might be cheaper and you can find a way of creating a link to your WeChat account. In some platforms you can share some WeChat/QR code promotions that will take your viewers directly to your shop when they click on it.
